Preacher's Wife Lied About Being Kidnapped

I know not many of us heard about this. Truth be told, the only reason i heard about is because it was on the Today show last week.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- A pregnant attorney who vanished for four days last week now says her tale of being kidnapped at gunpoint and taken to Georgia was fabricated, police said Tuesday. Her husband said she had "a meltdown."

Karyn Hancock was reported missing last week from her home in Toledo, OH. She was found near Six Flags in Georgia after waving down s motorist.

There was much relief in the Hancock house only to have that rocked by the discovery that it was hoax by Miss Karyn

Apparently burdened with the responsibilities of being an attorney, a mother and preacher's wife, Karyn decides that ATL is the place she wants to be.

I guess we should be glad that the media didnt take up a lot of time for this hoax....unlike Jennifer Wilbanks.

In case that name no longer rings a bell

It just blows my mind to see the blatant disregard for persons of color that go missing. Look at all the attention given to the Natalie Holloway's, Stacy Peterson's, Laci Petersen's, etc. (note to self: keep watchful eye for any kids named petersen).

As always, i hate pulling the race card, but there is no way to avoid it. Missing Black Women are just not newsworthy. I wont get into all the "this black female went missing at the same time as this white female". Its not necessary. But i do want to mention one particular comparison:

Anyone remember Elizabeth Smart? 15yr old white female that was missing for months and was found about 20miles from her house. Everyone remembers that. But tell me who Erica Pratt is. Here's the link.

Just ask yourself this. Name one missing black female (either found or not found) past or present.

I am sorry sistas, but you better make sure if you get snatched up that you get to a phone quick. There wont be any news coverage, unless you decide to go to six flags.
