Duane "Dog" Chapman was on the phone, blasting his son out because of his dislike of his son's girlfriend, who happens to be black. What the Big Bad Dog didnt know was that the call was being taped. And this taped conversation caught Mr. Chapman using the N-word to describe the girlfriend.
Now The Dawg...
He immediately goes out and starts making public apologies and tries to get as many dark faces around him as possible "so they can see who I really am and teach me the right thing to do to make things right, again."
Teach you?!?!?!
Dude you are like 50 something years old. Those lessons should have come a loooong time ago.
Now this doesnt surprise me. None of these celebs who get caught using derogatory terms surprise me. What does shock me, and is probably shocking him as well, is the fact that he got caught and now everyone knows about it.
Lets face it, everybody has said words or terms that they shouldnt have said. But you try to be conscience of your audience BEFORE using it.
We have all told racial jokes and prior to telling them, made sure that no one who may get offended was in ear shot.
The Dawg was on a private phone call that was recorded. He probably never thought his conversation would come back to bite him (no pun intended).
I am going to take a pause for the cause and see if i can find the recording. Stand by....
Well...ummm
Dammit....ummmm....Well....
Damn....He said it....sure enough...and said it a bunch of times.
Here is the link if you want to hear it.
This just proves my point.
Behind closed doors, people are the same..celebs or ordinary moes
You cant stop people from being who they are.
If The Dawg looks at me and sees a nucka, then thats what i am...TO HIM
If i look at him and i see trailer trash thats making a living chasing Samoans around Hawaii, then thats what he is ...TO ME
The ONLY reason he is making an apology is because he got caught. The only reason Kramer made his apology is because somebody taped him in his tirade. Its phony...not heart felt and you know what...they can save their apologies as far as i am concerned. They are only doing it to save their financial asses.
If he didnt have a TV show, first of all no one would know who he was and no one would really care if he used the N-word or not. I know i wouldnt. There are millions of people in this country that think of us as N-words. But really, what can you do about it?
Nothing.
As long as that word has the stigma that it does, people are gonna use it. Now only fools like Kramer would choose to say it in a public setting. He just said the hell with it and got busy!!!
Am i saying people should be allowed to call each other by that word? No. Its not that the word is used, its how it is used. If my brother came up to me and said "You Nucka", would i be offended? Nope. But if some white guy came up to me and said the same thing, then i would be pissed, ready to fight. Not because of the word, but because i would know that he means to insult me in the most extreme manner possible. He wants to break me down to less than a man. He wants to rehash feelings of slavery, oppression, Jim Crow laws and segregation.
Its not that the word is used. Its how its used.
Am i saying The Dawg should be left alone? Basically. He got caught doing what others do anyway.
If i got caught cheating on Mrs. Balogger, my first instinct would be to kiss her ass as much as possible, because i knew i should have:
a) been more careful in my extra-curricular activities
or the truth of the matter
b) NOT DONE IT TO BEGIN WITH
and The Dawg shouldnt have said it to begin with. But its out there now.
The only people who really are shocked behind this is white america
Black america could care less. We already suspect everyone white of being a closet racist anyway. We just got confirmation of one more.
