What was it all for?

The day after the Jumpoff in Jena, i kinda expected to hear that the charges would be dropped against all 6 (not really, but it would have been nice). But i just went to cnn.com and saw that Mychal Bell was going to remain locked up just a little while longer.

What was accomplished yesterday?

Talking with my brother blogger, i trying to make since of all this. I am really confused.

What was the purpose of the rally?

I know what i put in my article about it...solidarity, unity..all those pretty sounding words that is supposed to let the world know that we can come together.

But, if nothing changed for the Jena 6, then what was it all for?

Mychal is still in jail. The others are still awaiting trial. And i am still waiting for the next season of The Wire.

But seriously...

Should i be patient?

Do we use the Jena 6 like we use the victims of 9/11...as a call to arms.

What do we do now?

i watched cnn's special on the Jena 6 last night.

Here's what i took from it:

the 3 students that hung the noose
2 dropped out of school and i think the other was expelled
The student who brought out the shotgun
probation
Justin Barker (the 'victim' of the Jena 6)
dropped out of school
No hope in sight for the Jena 6

And to top it all off, it looks like the we are back to square one!!!!

Al, Jesse, Michael Baisden...what do we do now???

Speaking of Michael Baisden, what was the purpose of the party yesterday afternoon? People party after a big win. But what was the party for?

Supporters of the Jena 6 were asked to wear black. With no prior knowledge of this fact, i had on black, so i felt like i was there with them, but what was it for.

Maybe i missed it. Maybe its right in front of me.

Let me go to the information super highway and see if i can find a reason for the rally.
