The blogosphere is on fire with this one.
Apparently the Jena 6 should change their name to the Jena Trix as in "the joke's on the rest of us. "
These guys are blatantly flaunting their oppresion in the form of tv appearances, bling-bling and down right nucka nonsense.
There allegedly was a myspace page that belonged to Robert Bailey, one of the 'victims' (notice the quotes to emphasize that i am using the term very loosely). The page had pictures of him rolling around in the donations from Jena 6 supporters. He even had the nerve to have money in his damn mouth.
Platinum chains and wads of cash all while wearing the "Free Jena 6" T-shirts made popular by the march back in September.
Who knows if thats really him or not. There have been no claims to refute it and the content has since been removed which leads me to think that there maybe some truth to all of it.
What a slap in the face of Black America...but i think we brought it on ourselves.
Think back to the "March on Jena"...as i have said before, it was just a big party with no purpose. Michael Bell ended up going to jail anyway for parole violation. 2 of the J6 show up on the hip-hop awards and now this myspace incident. I am sure there will be more to follow.
We have to wake up people (and i am including myself, especially after the novel i wrote on jena 6) and stop making asses of ourselves in the media.
After all the attention and all the coverage of what happened there, how could something like this happen.
This falls right in step with the mis-use of FEMA money that was all over the news after Katrina. People using tax dollars to by guns and tattoos and porno.
I cant make this stuff up.
I guess next we will see the Jena 6 with a rap album. They already got the name.
"Anybody got Suge Knight's number????"
1 Puffs. Leave yours here.:
ok now.. WAIT. not to take away what actually happened to the kids involved in JENA,. but I’m not mad about the kids showing up on the HIP Hop Awards, nor would I be upset with seeing them with Cash in their HANDS. IF those kids were offered money by whomever for whatever.. I'm not mad. Our youth are being miss-educated to think that life is valued by the BLING. It's up to the parents and family to educate the kids on the value of life. Explaining what the value of a dollar really is. brb
